BANA has been selected to participate in the Civic Equity Project along with other organizations. This is a project launched by Bend2030 and Opportunity Knocks. Selection was based on the following criteria:
- Representation of and ability to engage populations that have been underrepresented in Bend decision-making
- Capacity for and opportunity to play a key role in community advocacy
- Lacking resources for organizational development work from a regional, state or national source.
Being a part of this team means receiving intensive organizational development and advocacy training over the two year span of the program, from April 2017-April 2019. This opportunity comes with a commitment from the BANA team to participate fully in the offerings of the program. The time commitment will vary for each organization but will require a minimum of 5 hours per month, and as many as 15-20 hours per month for those organizations wishing to participate at the most intensive level.
The board expects BANA will be a more effective organization at improving the livability of this part of the city and will be seeking some help in meeting this commitment. Respond to boydacres@gmail with your interest. More information will be available after May 8th.
