At the Dec. 19 City Council meeting, the Council adopted a resolution to re-establish the Juniper Ridge Management Advisory Board, a citizens committee tasked with developing a vision and framework for developing the 500 acre parcel in the northeast corner of our neighborhood.
Council members also voted to designate one of the seven board positions for a BANA representative. That representative will bring expertise in one of several areas - real estate, finance, industrial land development, economic development, business and sustainable development.
BANA's board will be recommending one or more persons to serve on the Management Advisory Board to represent the neighborhood. Juniper Ridge is an opportunity to provide mixed uses of employment and housing incorporating sustainability practices and standards. BANA is reaching out to residents and businesses to identify persons with such expertise and experience.
Our hope is that when Juniper Ridge is developed some years in the future, it will be a showcase of the most environmentally friendly construction while providing jobs and housing as an Opportunity Zone for Northeast Bend.
The re-established Management Advisory Board will have 24 months to create a framework for Juniper Ridge under the agreements and CC&Rs adopted in the last decade by the original advisors.
