City engineers scramble to rework their plan for the roundabout due to the late snow storm. BANA's board in anticipation of detours, asked if the speed limit on Desert Sage through the Lava Ridges subdivision could be lowered to 20 mph.
Sinclair Burr, the project engineer, responded the team was considering various options to lessen the impact on the neighborhood. Work might be pushed out until after school is out when there is less traffic on Purcell.
In responding to the late spring, the City engineering team is reconsidering the schedule for the Empire roundabout.
"The construction for this project has been somewhat delayed due to the snow storm. We are also highly considering adding a small amount of additional work to the stage we are currently working on to push the closure of Empire and Purcell out beyond school session. This should minimize the amount of traffic that will cut through the Lava Ridges neighborhood to just residents in the Yeoman/Deschutes Market area and park users," says Sinclair Burr, project engineer.
