City Council Work Session

Begins On: February 7th 2018
Time: 5 p.m. February 7
Location: Bend City Hall,710 NW Wall Street

City committees are contemplating new policies to rezone areas and allow for more residential density.  Recently adopted Urban Growth Boundary expansion allows duplexes and triplexes  in the Residential Standard zone.  Fourplexes are not allowed.  At the November 13, 2017 Planning Commission meeting, the Affordable Housing Committee recommended allowing fourplexes outright in the Residential Standard zone.  Such units would be counted as one in the density calculation.  This could result in up to 29 units in one acre of land, more dense than in the RM zone.

There is also a proposal to do a blanket rezone of 2,634 acres rather than a parcel by parcel approach.
