Kody Campbell Named to the Neighborhood Leadership Alliance
Acting Mayor Gena Goodman-Campbell has appointed Bana resident Kody Campbell as the Boyd Acres representative on the Neighborhood Leadership Alliance (NLA), a city committee charged with working with the city on behalf of the 13 neighborhood associations.
Campbell is a journeyman electrician who has been active in his union. He will be our liaison to the city vis a vis the NLA. The BANA board will inform him of its positions and the opinions of residents.
Oregon Public Interest Research Group (OSPIRG) Focuses Study
on the Financial Market Place
Oregon Public Interest Research Group is an organization dedicated to researching business practices that impact Oregonians and working for policies that protect them. Currently, OSPIRG is working to gather stories from Oregonians about instances that they have dealt with negative experiences in the financial marketplace. To gather this data OSPIRG is sharing a brief survey with BANA members. this short survey so we may be included in the research.
In Oregon and across the nation, everyone should be able to manage their finances and plan for the future without worrying about tricks, traps, or rip-offs. However, the financial marketplace is full of unfair practices and dangerous financial products that hurt the lives of consumers. Payday, medical, and student loans put average Americans in difficult financial situations that hurt their day-to-day lives.
OSPIRG is working to monitor the financial marketplace and work closely with policymakers to end unfair practices and hold wrongdoers accountable. Through its outreach and lobbying efforts, OSPIRG wants to improve regulation on these shady financial actors to protect consumers.
The organization is reaching out to residents across Oregon to collect survey responses to assist efforts to make substantial change in the financial marketplace. Any information will be kept anonymous and free from clearly identifying details. There may be follow up questions and OSPRIG will ask for express permission before using information in any other way.
