Boyd Acres Neighborhood Association
Board Meeting
930 AM Friday, May 4, 2018
In attendance: Joette Storm, Jeff Silverman, Cindy King, Matt Bryant, Jim Beauchemin, Larry Kierulff
Joette presented an appreciation letter to Don Leonard for all to sign. She
presented the latest document regarding NLAC. It had a successful first reading at City Council 5/2 and will have a second reading 5/16. If approved, the resolution will be effective next fiscal year. Details will then be documented in bylaws for the committee and BANA will need to present a member and alternate.
Joette asked who will stay on board next year. All but Larry K. agreed to stay. Joette accepted the chair for next year so vacancies exist at Vice Chair and Secretary. Larry K said he would remain as a committee member and transfer limited secretarial skills to next year’s board members. 2 board vacancies and the need for committee members will be advertised on Facebook and in the June flier
Joette said Barb Campbell will visit BANA May 14 and Eric King June 18. The board should prepare questions for each. Other future speakers may include Cascade East Transit, Lights Out, and a Fire Marshal.
Larry K reported approximately $3800 in the BANA fund. Allowing at least 500 for annual meeting leaves at least 3300 foot a general mailing. Joette proposed BANA mail door to door using Press Pro as recommended by Old Farm NA. Larry K will follow up for a door to door estimate. BMS would requite a flier and order by 5/31 to meet the 14 day notice of general meeting.
Jeff and Matt volunteered to plan the picnic details for annual meeting.
Jim B reported on discussion with Joshua regarding adding UGB areas to BANA. It will require a bylaw amendment. Jim will draft for the June meeting. Larry K suggested we review bylaws for any other changes.
Cindy, Matt and Larry reported on the CEP call. There was an emphasis on feed back reporting that Cindy will try to manage.
Cindy reported the Community Organizations Active in Disasters will meet 5/30.
Jim reported on the Advocates for Disabled Americans director, Brian Douglas regarding a GO bond proposal for completion of sidewalks, paving roads and speed calming structures. Jim will refine the BANA list of projects and meet with Brian later.
Meeting adjourned at 11 am. Respectfully Submitted, Larry Kierulff, Secretary
