State of Oregon   

        In Oregon citizens register to vote when they apply for a driver's license.

        Voting is performed by mail.

        Oregon has 36 counties, a National Park and 363/1 miles of coastline.

 City of Bend

         Bend is governed by a 7-member City Council elected at large.  The Mayor is chosen by the voters.

 Deschutes County

          The county provides health, law enforcement and library services for the residents of Bend, Redmond, Tumalo, Sunriver and La Pine.

 Bend Parks and Recreation 

          An independent taxing body, Bend Parks and Rec has 88 parks and facilities including Juniper Swim and Fitness Center, the Pavilion skating rink, Riley Ridge pedestrian park and Pine Nursery community park.

          88.9 FM is Bend's community radio station, supported by volunteers.
